I had a visit to Kuwait in july. Kuwait is a newly developing country after Iraq war. As I saw that there are many new skylights and towers. Most of the project handled by local and international company’s joint venture the rule state that all foreigner company shall have a local partner which shall hold to 51 percent of the company.

      Safety in Kuwait is poor only petrol sector is focusing on safety issues most of the managers and workers in petrol sector are western people. But construction sector is so loose. Mainly Egyptian engineers are managing civil works. Most of these managers are not aware of safety but progress. The majority of workers are thinks that safety gears are affecting negatively to their performance. The weather condition is so hard I have seen 50 Celsius degree working time start at 4 o’clock AM to 12 PM afternoon most of the companies not working. Sometimes they start to work after 5 PM till 8 PM. working in darkness   is the major risk. As we know that most of the accidents happen early time of working hours and just before the end of the working hours here both time is at darkness this may raise the probability of the accident.

     The lowest standard of safety is using helmet safety shoes reflected jacked is also not followed. Once you visit any site you will face people working with their local clothes and slippery no helmet no shoes. Also scaffoldings form works are old type. They are ties with rope. Local authority is not empower safety. Most of the workers from far Asia from Korea, Philippine, Egypt, china, India , Pakistan. These workers are not trained on safety.  Accommodations, foods are very low quality. Companies are not expending money for their camp life.

I hope the government force and empower safety of worker.
